Google has begun rolling out a Gemini hub designed to accompany students through an entire study routine, rather than answer occasional questions.
The hub gathers flashcards, practice quizzes and study notebooks that can identify gaps in a student’s knowledge, generate short lessons and track progress. The notebooks also connect with Google’s NotebookLM research tool.
Other features can turn a syllabus into a Google Calendar schedule, build custom quizzes using Google Search and generate interactive 3D simulations. Google Lens can coach students through mistakes, while Gemini’s more intensive Deep Research tool can keep working in the background during a live voice conversation.
The bundle ties Gemini more closely to Search, Lens, NotebookLM, Calendar, Drive and Google’s paid storage plans. Google is also using student offers to encourage adoption.
Availability, timing and usage limits vary. Signed-in personal accounts are receiving the hub first, while school-managed accounts and some younger users are expected to follow later. The rollout also does not establish that the tools improve learning: Google’s reported classroom gains came from research on an earlier Guided Learning system, not this new hub.
